Start with 10 lives
Before turning on the console, hold Select, Start, A and B on controller 1 and A and B on controller 2. Turn on the console with those buttons held. Release the buttons when the title screen appears, then hold A and B on controller 1 and B on controller 2. Keep these buttons held and press Start on controller 1 to begin the game with 10 lives.
Level Skip
Press Select 6 times at the level 1 introduction screen to advance to the next level.
Bonus Life
Stand in a moat and kill seven ninjas with your sword. Catch the blue creature that appears to receive a bonus life.
